The other night there was a brilliant piece on the BBC’s One Show about businesses getting involved in prisons, offering training opportunities for people while they’re still inside, to then offer them real jobs on release.
In particular, it featured a partnership between Bounce Back and Alendale Construction, training people in scaffolding whilst inside with the opportunity of a job on release.
For the next couple of weeks, you’ll be able watch piece on BBC iPlayer.
As Raphael Rowe said in the piece, training schemes in prisons only work if there’s real opportunities for employment for people when they’re released. So if you’re part of a business that thinks you could get involved in recruiting people when they’re released from prison, please get in touch.
